TAIPEI, TAIWAN, August 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Most agile events focus on how to make teams move faster. But what truly stalls an organization is rarely a lack of speed — it is a wrong direction. Moving faster in the wrong direction only gets you to the wrong place sooner. On Saturday, August 15, Regional Scrum Gathering (RSG) Taipei 2026 — licensed by the international Scrum Alliance and hosted by the Taiwan Agile Tribe (TAT) — will convene at the National Taiwan University Hospital International Convention Center. For the first time in the history of RSG worldwide, an entire gathering has been built around facilitation rather than keynote speeches, with its audience shifted from agile practitioners to CEOs and senior decision-makers — compressing a year's worth of executive-level agile dialogue into a single day, where leaders bring their own unresolved strategic dilemmas into the room to be challenged and unpacked together by peers across industries.

RSG events around the world tend to draw the same crowd — engineers, project managers, Scrum Masters. They learn earnestly, but often struggle to shift leadership's thinking once they return to the office. Dr. Roger Chou — Taiwan's International Agile Ambassador, one of only 244 Certified Scrum Trainers (CST) worldwide, and newly elected to the global Scrum Alliance board — pinpoints the root of the problem: "Agile rarely gets stuck with the engineers." "Just as coding is no longer only an engineer's job in the AI era," he says, "executives are now using AI to make decisions too. But without agile thinking, no decision is fast enough to outrun the pace of being replaced."

That statement is the reason RSG Taipei 2026 exists — among every RSG in the world, it is the only one where the audience is entirely CEOs and management-level leaders, run in a single day, and built end-to-end around facilitation. This positioning is unique to Taipei; no other city in the world is doing it.

The event does not sell tickets. RSG Taipei is instead sponsored by CEOs on a referral basis: participants pay a refundable deposit, returned in full after completing the entire program. "If an event is free, the audience treats attendance as optional," Chou says. "What I want is voluntary commitment, not a take-it-or-leave-it appearance." The bet has paid off: where typical community events draw roughly 60 percent attendance, RSG Taipei has come close to, and even exceeded, 95 percent attendance year after year. Between the T-shirts, gifts, curated meals, tote bags, and a full day of intellectual challenge, the value participants receive far exceeds the deposit — with the full cost covered by sponsoring CEOs. Leaders further along the path build the stage for those still on their way.

This year's keynote lineup spans business, government, and academia, headlined by Dr. Mao Chi-kuo, former Premier of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and Stan Shih, founder and Honorary Chairman of the Acer Group. Chou had never met either of them beforehand. He secured their participation through a personal letter and a customized 28-page presentation that traced each speaker's own intellectual journey and connected it to agile thinking — making the case for why RSG needed them, and why the industry needed them, clearly enough to bring them into the room.

Can a single day really compress a year's worth of executive-level dialogue? Chou's answer comes down to one word: facilitation. "A keynote speech is me sitting in the audience, listening to someone more capable than I am. Facilitation is me speaking, and everyone talking to each other," he says. "One day of dialogue is enough — what matters is that the thinking it sparks actually gets carried home and put into practice."

This positioning is not a marketing claim — it has been proven twice, in attendance numbers. RSG Taipei 2022 set a record in its inaugural year with 888 registrations, the highest attendance in the history of RSG worldwide. In 2024, it broke its own record again with 1,111 registrations, setting a new global high for the second time. Two events, two world records — Taipei is the only city to have broken the global RSG attendance record in consecutive editions, and that track record is what gives this year's "every CEO in one room" positioning its credibility. In 2026, RSG Taipei has chosen to condense its scale into a focused, single-day format, translating Taiwan's senior-executive agile experience into a language the world can understand. The day opens with Dr. Roger Chou setting the frame, and closes with international facilitation master Lawrence Philbrook leading the room through convergence. The same day will also see the presentation of the fourth annual Global Top Agile CEO Awards.

As the Product Owner of RSG Taipei, Chou holds one line as the vision's only non-negotiable: "Let the world see Taiwan. Agile starts with senior leadership, and reaches into every industry."
